POSITION: HORIZONTAL BORING OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Operations Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the safe daily functions of utility construction projects. This role focuses on managing field operations with an emphasis on safety, compliance, efficiency, cost control, and innovation. Ensure that construction activities adhere to company protocols and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee daily operations in alignment with project specifications and client expectations while continuously assessing site safety conditions.
  • Track crew progress to guarantee timely job completion, ensuring alignment with the overall project timeline and budget.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships, including participation in client progress meetings and pre-bid discussions as necessary.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors involved in field operations.
  • Conduct pre-surveys of job sites and confirm that necessary locates have been completed.
  • Perform job hazard analyses and lead daily/weekly safety briefings.
  • Manage labor relations and employee development.
  • Secure the worksite at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and protect equipment and materials.
  • Promote safety by exemplifying best practices, maintaining a drug-free workplace, and taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Train crew members in accordance with company safety protocols.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.



ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Mechanically inclined with a keen attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain DOT physical certification is necessary. Class A CDL is preferred.
  • Experience operating Vermeer drills (23x30) and DCI locating equipment.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and meet all other pre-employment criteria.

  • Reliable transportation to and from work is essential.
  • Willingness to travel for up to one week at a time and adapt to a flexible work schedule, including long hours and weekend availability.
  • Self-motivated with a capacity for quick learning.
  • Team-oriented with a strong sense of integrity.
  • Able to mentor less experienced team members as needed.
  • Committed to safety practices.
