About the Role

The City and County of San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multifamily Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Community Development department, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of affordable housing in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multifamily housing finance work, including affordable housing loan underwriting, project planning, development, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with other City agencies to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance to development partners, project staff, and other agencies.
  • Review and make recommendations regarding financing plans, development budgets, construction budgets, operating budgets, timelines, entitlements, service plans, and proposed activities of entities receiving funding.
  • Monitor progress of construction, including site visits, and process payments.
  • Prepare a wide variety of reports, memoranda, and correspondence related to housing and community development activities.
  • Enforce contracts and oversee remedial actions.
  • Inspect buildings and recommend physical improvements based on site visits and capital needs assessments.
  • Prepare and negotiate loan documents specific to multifamily lending.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, or criminal justice; OR
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the following fields: public or business administration, urban planning, government, social work, education, finance, or criminal justice AND two (2) years of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing, and/or housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, criminal justice; OR
  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university in public policy, planning, social work, public administration, finance, education, criminal justice, or business administration; AND one (1) year of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing, and/or housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, or criminal justice; OR
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited college or university AND one (1) year of administrative/professional experience in community development, housing, and/or housing development, workforce development, finance, education, social work, children/youth work, or criminal justice.
