Job Summary

Community Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper I (Billing & Invoicing) to provide expert billing and invoicing assistance to our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process monthly and quarterly invoices for specific contracts and grants.
  • Allocate costs across different funding sources and expense categories.
  • Document all expenses with receipts, requisition orders, and other relevant electronic records.
  • Assemble all supporting documentation into a final invoice package for submission to funders.
  • Upload invoices to online portals as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing and invoicing Excel files and paper files.
  • Monitor program expenditures versus budgets and report potential issues in a timely manner.
  • Respond to partners' inquiries regarding invoice details and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Provide cross-trained support to Bookkeeper II and CFO as needed.
  • Assist with audits and prepare ad hoc reports as directed by the CFO.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED certificate required.
  • Minimum of two years of bookkeeping experience covering all aspects of bookkeeping systems.
  • Advanced computer skills and experience with business software, such as Sage 50, Excel, Outlook, Word, ADP, etc.
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting and grant reporting software programs a plus.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range: $62,000 - $75,362 per year.
  • Additional 5% salary increase for bilingual candidates (Spanish).
