Community Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper I (Billing & Invoicing) to provide expert billing and invoicing assistance to our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and process monthly and quarterly invoices for specific contracts and grants.
- Allocate costs across different funding sources and expense categories.
- Document all expenses with receipts, requisition orders, and other relevant electronic records.
- Assemble all supporting documentation into a final invoice package for submission to funders.
- Upload invoices to online portals as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing and invoicing Excel files and paper files.
- Monitor program expenditures versus budgets and report potential issues in a timely manner.
- Respond to partners' inquiries regarding invoice details and make adjustments as necessary.
- Provide cross-trained support to Bookkeeper II and CFO as needed.
- Assist with audits and prepare ad hoc reports as directed by the CFO.
- High School diploma or GED certificate required.
- Minimum of two years of bookkeeping experience covering all aspects of bookkeeping systems.
- Advanced computer skills and experience with business software, such as Sage 50, Excel, Outlook, Word, ADP, etc.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting and grant reporting software programs a plus.
- Competitive salary range: $62,000 - $75,362 per year.
- Additional 5% salary increase for bilingual candidates (Spanish).
