Job Overview

Position: Customer Service Cashier

Employment Type: Regular Part Time - $19.25-$23.25/HR

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional service to all customers
  • Address customer inquiries and provide accurate information
  • Handle monetary transactions with precision, including loans, credit card, and check processing, while ensuring accurate cash management
  • Facilitate gift card sales as needed
  • Maintain a tidy and organized checkout area
  • Efficiently process customer purchases and bag items
  • Be knowledgeable of all PLU codes and utilize the register PLU reference
  • Adhere to all Federal and State laws regarding the sale of age-restricted products
  • Accurately apply tares for scalable items during checkout
  • Follow established cash handling protocols
  • Comply with check, ATM, and credit card processing guidelines
  • Exhibit a calm, friendly, and professional attitude consistently
  • Familiarize oneself with new products in the produce section as necessary
  • Successfully complete weekly produce code assessments
  • Assist Front End Supervisors and Customer Service Managers in managing customer flow to minimize wait times
  • Answer phone calls for the department with appropriate etiquette
  • Operate Front End machinery safely and correctly
  • Keep the front end area clean, including sweeping and sanitizing equipment
  • Restock and maintain the Front End Department, ensuring the register is well-supplied and operational
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Front End Customer Service Manager and Front End Supervisors

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a cashier or checker
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective customer and team interactions
  • Capability to solve problems and manage multiple tasks
  • Self-driven, proactive, and focused on solutions
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Familiarity with basic computer and register operations
  • Aptitude for making sound decisions under pressure
  • Reliable and dependable for scheduled shifts
  • Ability to address customer requests and needs effectively

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
