Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is seeking a dedicated full-time Lead Semiconductor Processing Engineer. This role is pivotal in supporting the development of advanced x-ray detector technologies intended for future space exploration instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the deposition and patterning of thin films, utilizing techniques such as sputtering and e-beam evaporation, alongside various lithography methods including photolithography and e-beam lithography.
- Conduct thermal oxidation and annealing processes using specialized furnaces and ovens, and perform deep reactive ion etching (DRIE) or reactive ion etching (RIE) on silicon substrates.
- Utilize metrology tools and imaging systems, including profilometers and scanning electron microscopes (SEM), to analyze both completed and in-progress devices.
- Adhere to strict clean room protocols, ensuring a pristine working environment.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail by accurately following detailed process instructions and providing thorough inspections and reports after each processing phase.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, effectively documenting fabrication results and status updates for team members during meetings and through written reports.
- Show initiative by independently managing project tasks while collaborating with team members to coordinate wafer processing and equipment training.
- Efficiently manage time to adhere to project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in materials science, physics, or a related engineering discipline, accompanied by 7 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven track record as a Semiconductor Fabrication Engineer or in a closely related role.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in materials science, physics, or a related engineering field.
