The Director of Facilities and Fleet Operations is responsible for overseeing comprehensive physical plant management, including capital construction, project oversight, and lifecycle maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse team of over 100 professionals dedicated to maintaining a portfolio of 34 buildings totaling over 1.2 million square feet.
- Oversee preventative maintenance and repairs for a fleet of more than 1300 vehicles and equipment.
- Lead strategic and tactical planning initiatives within the Facilities and Fleet Operations Department.
- Administer all aspects of building maintenance, including planning, directing repairs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Negotiate leases and manage contracts to support departmental needs.
- Ensure that facility improvements and capital projects adhere to all relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with engineers to manage deferred maintenance programs and propose funding for necessary projects.
- Implement energy conservation measures and develop policies to enhance sustainability.
- Maintain and enhance fleet operations, ensuring safety and efficiency in vehicle management.
- Establish productivity standards and oversee the training and development of departmental staff.
- Monitor trends in facilities and fleet management to ensure best practices are followed.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with financial controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Facilities Management.
- 10+ years of supervisory or management experience.
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Business Administration and a Colorado Broker Associate Real Estate License.

Work Environment:
Work is primarily conducted in an office setting, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions. The role may require some physical activity, including lifting and moving equipment as necessary.
Additional Requirements:
Successful candidates must pass pre-employment testing, including a motor vehicle record check and background investigation. A valid Colorado class 'C' driver's license is required.
