We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Childrens National Hospital. As a Pediatric ICU Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and infants in our state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns and infants in the NICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including vital signs, laboratory results, and other relevant data to inform care decisions.
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including progress notes, medication lists, and other relevant information.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and evidence-based guidelines in pediatric critical care.
- 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a pediatric ICU or NICU setting.
- Current BLS certification and ACLS certification (may be required based on unit/specialty).
- Ability to rotate shifts every 3-4 weeks, with straight shifts accommodated if possible.
- Guaranteed hours: 36-48 hours per week, with no overtime until after 48 hours.
- Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday.
- Recent experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care required.
