Fleet Mechanic Job Description

US Foods is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition and compliant with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Document all repairs and maintenance activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to workplace safety rules and regulations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

  • Competitive hourly rate: $35-39/hour.
  • $1,000 yearly tool allowance.
