About the Role

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to join our Behavioral Health team as a Central Access and Disposition Nurse. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient and effective management of inpatient behavioral health services across our system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on the behavioral and medical needs of behavioral health patients, identifying placement barriers and recommending the most appropriate treatment setting.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders systemwide to develop and implement strategies for improving behavioral health throughput, reducing barriers to admission, and enhancing patient care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the system, including clinical leaders, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to improve patient care and system efficiency.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and system performance.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts, required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inpatient psychiatry unit and/or emergency department experience required.
  • Proven experience in leadership roles, including flow coordination, access nursing, bed control, and clinical coordination.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
