System Quality Assurance Specialist

The North Highland Co is seeking a skilled System Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring system quality, managing requirements, and serving as a liaison between technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily system monitoring and quality assurance checks
  • Review key application indicators and data anomaly reports
  • Prepare and deliver daily and weekly system QA reports
  • Lead defect triage meetings and coordinate with the platform vendor to identify and align ownership to ensure defects are addressed, retested, and resolved
  • Participate in release meetings
  • Support system release sanity checks, as needed
  • Monitor and balance notice generation and printing processes

Requirements Management:

  • Coordinate with business stakeholders to create requirements elaboration documents that add detail to the high-level product roadmap line items and that identify and address business issues, logic complexities, and solution / business compromises
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements
  • Write detailed requirement elaboration documents
  • Facilitate stakeholder sessions to gather feedback and validate results
  • Monitor requirements from design to implementation

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate weekly defect and system-stability summary reports for leadership
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis as required

Special Projects and Processes:

  • Develop presentations on processes for business teams
  • Support documentation of processes on an ongoing basis
  • Support execution of annual processes (e.g., Periodic Data Match, 1095-A, Auto-Renewals), including documentation, dry runs, and production monitoring
  • Review proposed approach and the required reports from each stage
  • Create report templates (Excel and PowerPoint) to track and communicate end-to-end results
  • Gather batch job statistics and balance the counts from end-to-end
  • Analyze the results and compare to prior years and test for reasonableness
  • Review anomalous / unexpected results

Tools and Systems:

  • Utilize Jira for defect tracking and triage discussions

Requirements:

  • Experience in the health insurance, public health, and/or health policy fields
  • Health Benefit Exchange (HBE) / State Based Exchange (SBE) / Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) / Affordable Care Act (ACA) experience is ideal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience with system quality assurance processes and defect management
  • Familiarity with requirements elicitation and documentation techniques
  • Proficiency in using project management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and processes is a plus
