Role Overview
The primary role of the Vision Systems Engineer involves the creation, completion, and optimization of vision system configurations aimed at inspecting pharmaceutical injectable products. A secondary focus includes collaboration with the Center of Competence (COC) on the integration of Artificial Intelligence technologies and bespoke vision applications. Responsibilities also encompass machine installations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, modifications, and the setup of particle sensor parameters. Additionally, support for various pharmaceutical packaging and inspection machinery within the inspection division may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in approximately 75% travel, both domestically and occasionally internationally, to assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at Syntegon facilities.
- Serve as the lead engineer for vision tuning and provide guidance to new engineers on tuning standards.
- Collaborate with the COC on the integration of Artificial Intelligence and vision systems.
- Conduct machine installations and support clients during Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Advise clients on sample provision to develop effective machine vision configurations and minimize false rejection rates.
- Train client personnel on the operation and maintenance of inspection, packaging, and assembly machinery.
- Perform on-site preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical machine issues.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure optimal machine performance and satisfaction.
- Facilitate vision training sessions at both the office and client locations.
- Execute PC repairs and upgrades at both the office and client sites.
- Provide troubleshooting support via phone for operational machine issues.
- Compile service visit summaries and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
- At least one year of experience with Vision Systems, preferably with Halcon or Cognex.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Passport or the ability to obtain one.
Physical Requirements
- Capability to lift items weighing up to 30 pounds and maneuver equipment for placement.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel on weekends as necessary.
Travel Expectations
- Approximately 75% overnight travel, primarily within North America, with occasional international travel.
Additional Information
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $95,000, based on a full-time schedule. Compensation at Syntegon is influenced by various non-discriminatory factors, including office location, role, qualifications, relevant skills, and experience level. Total rewards include salary, potential bonuses, and benefits.
