Key Responsibilities- Conduct Strategic Analysis: Evaluate the relevance of data to support financial investigations, analyze data patterns, and project next steps for refinement.
- Interpret Data Patterns: Help interpret data patterns of cryptocurrency encounters from a conceptual perspective, based on red flag indicators and schemes/methods.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with intel analysts, OSINT analysts, data and visualization experts, and software developers to understand data regarding AML and cryptocurrency illegal practices and make recommendations to decision makers.
- Support Threat Identification: Assist in the identification and analysis of tools used by transnational criminal organizations to obfuscate their transfer of funds.
- Liaise with Teams: Serve as a liaison between manager and subordinate units, relaying instructions and information and following commitment through to completion.
- Multitask and Adapt: Must be able to multitask efficiently and progressively and work comfortably in an ever-changing environment.
- Determine Tools and Methods: Determine appropriate tools and methods for specific projects to identify networks, predict future threats, or isolate and evaluate threat scenarios.
- Coordinate with Teams: Assist with coordinating and being a functioning member of a crypto working group to address the cryptocurrency threat to CBP's identification of transfer of illegal funds.
- Experience in Intelligence Analysis: 5-8 years of experience in intelligence analysis or policy planning.
- Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Experience: Experience in AML, including knowledge of FinCEN Data.
- Cryptocurrency Experience: Experience in cryptocurrency, including transfer of funds/concealment methods.
- Analytics Skills: Skills in the end-to-end analytics lifecycle to synthesize actionable information through data collection, preparation, and model building.
- Presentation Skills: Presenting work to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Law Enforcement or Classified Intelligence Experience: Experience working in law enforcement or classified intelligence analysis environment is preferable.
- Understanding of CBP Targeting Environment: Understanding of the CBP targeting environment and applications.
- US Citizenship and Clearance: Selected applicants must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) suitability.
- TS/SCI Clearance: A current TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Stationary Position: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasional Movement: The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Computer and Office Equipment: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Communication: Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
