Responsibilities:

  • Define and oversee processes, activities, products, tools, and controls utilized throughout the lifecycle of the Next-Generation Very Large Array (ngVLA) initiative to ensure the effective design, development, deployment, and commissioning of intricate systems.
  • Assist project management in orchestrating planning activities.
  • Lead system designs, engineering studies, and analyses, as well as technology planning and system architecture development.
  • Develop and analyze requirements and concepts of operations.
  • Monitor system development and engage in lifecycle reviews.
  • Direct testing and evaluation of delivered systems.
  • Execute system operation functions and specify construction procedures along with infrastructure support requirements.
  • Lead the creation of specifications for control systems and components.
  • Conduct modeling and simulation tasks.
  • Perform engineering tests on an Offset Gregorian antenna and signal path, ensuring compliance with requirements prior to scientific testing.
  • Formulate systems acquisition and lifecycle management strategies.
  • Support the Project Manager with analyses, reviews, proposals, and other managerial-related tasks.
  • Review existing programs, aiding in refinements, reducing operational time, and enhancing current methodologies.
  • Supervise junior Systems Engineers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in electrical or electronic engineering or a related discipline, coupled with ten years of experience. Experience must encompass:

  • Testing of Offset Gregorian antennas;
  • Proficiency in Operating Systems (Windows, Linux) and MS Office suite;
  • Familiarity with Vitech CORE;
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 planning software;
  • Knowledge of eB configuration management tool (ALIM);
  • Utilization of FEKO Collaboration Tools;
  • Proficiency in Python.

Possession of an INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certificate is required. The skill set does not need to be maintained throughout the entire duration of the required experience.
