In this role, you will be responsible for both backend and frontend development, including design, testing, deployment, and maintenance of new and existing features. You will collaborate with team members and management, utilizing strong communication skills while also being able to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize coding and analytical skills to ensure efficient and accurate application functionality.
  • Contribute to the design and technical specifications for the POS application, considering system limitations and network capabilities.
  • Test, debug, and maintain existing applications while addressing customer-reported issues.
  • Integrate various peripherals such as printers and card terminals into the application.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of IP protocols and internet services.
  • Ensure the performance and accuracy of the POS application.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding project progress and potential challenges.
  • Analyze existing code to identify issues and propose solutions.
  • Prepare documentation for new and existing application functionalities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining VB6 code and utilizing SourceSafe for source control.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in VB6 programming.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with .Net technologies and Team Foundation Services.
  • Experience in the financial sector, particularly in credit card processing.
  • Background in finance, specifically related to credit and debit card transactions.
