About American Fence Company, Inc.
We are a leading provider of fence installation services, dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions to our customers. As a Construction Foreman, you will play a crucial role in leading our fence installation teams and ensuring that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage fence installation teams to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
- Verify that all necessary materials and equipment are available for each project.
- Make decisions on the installation of permanent fence, including the placement of terminations based on boundaries.
- Discuss fencing needs with customers and clarify specifications as needed.
- Prepare site areas for installation, removing obstacles and verifying that it is part of the contract.
- Measure and lay out fence lines, mark posthole positions, and follow instructions, shop drawings, blueprints, or specifications.
- Align posts, verify vertical alignment, and locate underground utility safety markings.
- Dig postholes, set posts, mix and pour concrete, and assemble and install custom ornamental iron fences and gates.
- Stretch wire, wire mesh, or chain link fencing between posts, attach fencing to frames, and assemble gates.
- Complete top fence rails of metal fences, insert metal tubing, and attach rails or tension wire.
- Assemble custom iron fence orders on site, add privacy slats or panels, and ensure specifications are met.
- Complete administrative tasks, such as collecting signatures, employee time sheets, and other paperwork.
- Remove, load, transport, and dispose of old fence at site as required.
- Drive company trucks to customer sites and back to the branch, following DOT regulations.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, reach lifts, skid steers, and attachments for loading and unloading trucks, installation of fences, or moving materials.
- Inspect and complete safety checklists for equipment, power tools, and machinery prior to each use.
Requirements:
- 2 years of heavy construction experience required.
- 1 year of experience as a supervisor or foreman.
- Prior fencing experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
