Patient Care Technician

Nursing Care Partners are unlicensed staff members who work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. This role provides patient care, supports the admissions and discharge process, and complies with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care, including vital signs, blood draws, and daily care
- Support the admission and discharge process
- Comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse
- Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any changes to the nursing team
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- American Health Association BLS Certification within 90 days of hire
- One of the following certifications: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), or completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School
- One year of prior healthcare experience
