We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Relativity Space. As a key member of our Avionics Team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing mechanical products within the Terran R avionics system.
Your expertise will be focused on electronics enclosures, vibration isolation, thermal management, and environmental protection devices. You will collaborate with electrical engineers to design robust, high-performance printed circuit board assemblies and perform preliminary sizing for static and dynamic loads and thermal environments.
You will utilize 3D modeling and 2D drafting packages to deliver detailed designs with considerations for production and test. Your designs will be validated for flight through rapid prototyping, analysis, and test campaigns.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years of experience in a full-cycle mechanical design engineering role
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field
- Experience with 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Experience with structural and thermal analysis
- Demonstrated project ownership and accountability with complex, multi-disciplinary technical projects
