Job Summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Therapist - Board Certified to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing behavioral services to clients and families, as well as training and consultation to parents, teachers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive behavioral assessment and treatment programs for children, families, and community caregivers.
  • Coordinate case management activities and train parents or other caregivers to implement treatment programs.
  • Provide consultative services to parents, teachers, and other clinical/educational personnel, train staff as needed, and coordinate home and school communication.
  • Develop and disseminate information related to departmental activities, services, and research.
  • Present workshops and other training materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct day-to-day supervision and training of clinical staff and trainees.
  • Prepare for and utilize departmental supervision with supervisor and attend supervision sessions prepared with case files and up-to-date treatment plans and protocols.
  • Conduct self responsibly and ethically, come to work in a timely manner, and maintain appropriate therapist-patient relationships.
  • Complete all paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain appropriate contact and communication with caregivers, outside agencies, and schools regarding treatment, development of treatment plans, and goals/objectives.
  • Complete tasks related to the conduct of clinical services.
  • Keep up to date with research related to cases, and use findings in an appropriate manner to augment treatment planning.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in psychology, education, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavior disorders.
  • Experience in behavioral assessment and treatment.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or BCBA certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in supervising others and/or providing training and consultation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to organize and manage time and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuum.
  • Ability to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment.
