Job Overview:
The Environmental Services Assistant Supervisor is responsible for guiding staff in upholding the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance standards set forth by the healthcare facility, in alignment with both institutional and regulatory standards. This role involves keeping management updated on the current state of all areas and ensuring that cleaning assignments are executed efficiently and on schedule. The supervisor may also assist in addressing training requirements for staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees daily operations of the department, ensuring that cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently met.
  • In charge of recruitment, onboarding, staff development, and performance evaluations, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Collaborates with the Environmental Services Manager to create and maintain effective systems for budgeting and cost management.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory standards.
  • Works alongside the Environmental Services Manager to monitor customer satisfaction metrics and implements strategies for improvement.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years in a leadership role.
  • Proven supervisory and human resource management skills.
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate departmental needs.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification from IEHA, ASHES, or a similar organization.
Physical Demands:
Includes tasks such as lifting, carrying, listening, manual dexterity, pushing, pulling, seeing, speaking, and standing.

Work Environment:
This position is integral to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff alike.

Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is competitive and based on experience.
