This position is located at Memorial Hermann Cypress.
About the RoleAs a Certified Surgical Technologist, you will provide proficient perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. You will function as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures. You will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory.
You will use your knowledge and expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served, as well as knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.
Responsibilities- Provide perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation
- Function as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures
- Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory
- Use knowledge and expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles
- Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
- Certified in Basic Life Support and current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- 3-5+ years of Ortho experience preferred
- 1+ year of hospital experience required
