Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sleep Intake Specialist to join our team at VieMed. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient intake processes, verifying insurance benefits, and communicating effectively with patients, physicians, and insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify and Record Insurance Benefits: Obtain and verify patient insurance information, including co-pays and insurance breakdowns.
  • Obtain Prior Authorization: Secure prior authorization from payers as required.
  • Schedule Set-Ups: Schedule set-ups as called into VieMed by physicians or physician's office staff.
  • Retrieve and Log Demographic Information: Retrieve incoming referrals and log demographic information into our current patient database and billing system.
  • Review Medical Records: Review medical records to determine if medical necessity has been met.
  • Communicate with Sales Team and Referral Sources: Communicate with the sales team and referral sources regarding referral status and any missing information.
  • Document Referral Status: Document the status of referrals in our computer system.
  • Report Concerns and Issues: Report any concerns or issues directly to the Resupply Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Relevant Experience: One to two years of experience working in a durable medical equipment company or a relevant medical office setting is preferred.
  • Basic Understanding of Medical Insurance Benefits: A basic understanding of medical insurance benefits is necessary.
  • Effective Communication Skills: The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, patients, organizations, and the public is essential.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology: A working knowledge of medical terminology, including CPT, HCPCS, and ICD10 codes, is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, is necessary.
Working Conditions

This position will work in an office environment.
