Job Summary

The Tugger Operator is responsible for towing and emptying trash and cardboard carts as they fill throughout the shift. This role requires the ability to operate industrial equipment, such as lift trucks and tow tractors, to assist in loading or moving materials for yardage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial lift and/or tugger to assist in loading or moving materials for yardage
  • Bale cardboard, run a trash compactor, and operate a tow tractor to keep production running smoothly
  • Use computer, read work order, or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
  • Load materials and/or buggies into trailers and/or trucks
  • Install strapping or chains to prevent shifting or damage while in transit
  • Print necessary labels and manifests
  • Transport buggies from work sites to designated area
  • Load and unload full or empty buggies
  • Use the computer to keep a current list of available buggies
  • Perform janitorial duties such as emptying trash cans, cleaning restrooms, and scrubbing floors

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • No experience required and on-the-job training provided
  • No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of similar work experience preferred
