About This Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary Founding Director of Business Development to spearhead our commercial growth and establish key partnerships. Initially focused on our revolutionary first product, this role will quickly expand to encompass multiple game-changing products and the Foundry business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and Pursue New Opportunities: Conduct market analysis, network with target customers and distribution partners, and forge strong strategic alliances to drive revenue growth.
  • Nurture Existing Relationships: Manage commercial relationships in a customer-centric manner, ensuring Atomic Machines consistently exceeds client expectations and fosters mutually beneficial growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to tailor solutions that meet client needs and drive customer success.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for innovation and market differentiation.
  • Sales Enablement and Training: Collaborate with internal teams to develop sales processes, create materials, and build strategies that empower the sales team to close business effectively.
  • Negotiation and Deal Closure: Lead contract negotiations and secure deals, ensuring both client satisfaction and company profitability.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor business development activities, track progress, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with company goals and growth objectives.
  • Strategic Contributions: Provide insights and feedback on market needs, customer pain points, and industry trends to inform product development and strategic direction.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 10+ Years of Experience: Proven success in business development or sales, ideally in a hardware technology company, with significant experience in a startup environment.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to scale a business and generate new revenue streams in a fast-paced setting.
  • Industry Expertise: Significant experience with the electronic/MEMS component distribution industry is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with C-level executives and decision-makers.
  • Business Development Strategy: Ability to develop and implement business development strategies from lead generation to deal closure, including effective use of CRM tools.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.
  • Tech Savviness: Solid understanding of technology products and services, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple, relatable way.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience handling multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required; an MBA is preferred.
