Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides patient care according to the philosophy and standards of the Department of Nursing. The ideal candidate will utilize appropriate clinical skills to integrate and implement the nursing process with the plan of care. As a clinical resource for the patient, the Registered Nurse will consistently provide direction and support to ensure a focus on the team goals and patient-driven outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • The Registered Nurse performs nursing assessments accurately and timely in accordance with practice standards.
  • Develops and implements a plan of care that reflects the needs and goals of the patient.
  • Provides nursing care, evaluates, and modifies to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Ensures patient care documentation is completed per established standards.
  • Ensures medications are administered safely and according to professional standards of practice and nursing policies and procedures.
  • Transcribes or acknowledges doctors' orders as needed and carries out orders as directed.
  • Coodinates nursing care activities in collaboration with other care team members to facilitate achievement of patient goals.
  • Assesses patient education needs and provides education related to the disease process, underlying disability, medication, and preparation for discharge to help patients and families develop self-care skills necessary to move toward wellness.
Qualifications:
  • Current license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, preferred from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Effective verbal, electronic, and written communications skills using the English language.
  • Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
  • Maintain flexible work schedule.
