Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient exams, procedures, and treatments
  • Take vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and maintain accurate medical records
  • Perform laboratory tests, administer medications, and provide patient education
  • Support patient scheduling, rooming, and registration processes
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program
  • Flexible work schedule to meet the needs of our patients
  • Lab experience and vitals experience required
  • Experience with patient scheduling and patient rooming a plus
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a primary care setting with underserved populations or people experiencing homelessness
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed philosophies
  • Experience working with an EMR system
  • Spanish language skills a plus
