About the Role

Fraser Shipyards Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Technician to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote a safety-focused culture and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  • Provide support for customer safety initiatives and maintain compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (safety, industrial health, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety-related role
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Physical ability to work in a shipyard environment, including confined spaces and inclement weather
