Shenandoah Medical Center is seeking a skilled RN to join our Oncology Clinic team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with healthcare providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate patient care operations within the Department, ensuring that patient needs are met and exceeded.
• Serve as a clinical expert in the assessment of the patient population, providing patient advocacy and education.
• Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members and departments to meet patient care requirements.
• Monitor adherence to policy and procedure to ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Assist in maintaining equipment and outdated supplies for patient care, reporting malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel and re-ordering supplies as needed.
• Keep management informed of patient care and staff issues in a timely and appropriately manner.
Requirements
• Prioritize tasks, patient scheduling, referrals, staffing, quality or other operational issues in a changing environment.
• Keep patient needs in the forefront when evaluating alternatives, using good judgment when making independent decisions.
• Negotiate effectively while maintaining positive relationships, serving as a resource for staff in solving clinical, regulatory and operations issues.
• Listen effectively and process key information, promoting trust with open and effective communication.
• Recognize impacts of decisions made, participating in quality and process improvement initiatives for the department.
Preferred Qualifications
• Perform complete admission assessment, comprehensive nursing assessments, and full body system analysis.
• Administer and perform nursing assessment in accordance with the applicable patient type, developing a comprehensive plan of care according to assessment.
• Recognize abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition, establishing priorities and taking appropriate action.
• Evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes prior to discharge or release, demonstrating personal accountability in the delivery of patient care.
• Provide intravenous interventions, collaborating with healthcare providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
