About the Role

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our client's team in the Bohemia, NY area. This direct hire position offers a unique opportunity to expand your engineering career within a state-of-the-art technology organization.

This senior-level role involves the mechanical engineering of a project, including system design, project planning, development, and tracking of budgets, customer interface, and establishment and monitoring of schedules.

Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and install electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, parts, and components based on schematics and national codes and standards.
  2. Generate concept drawings, design assemblies, and fabrications drawings, as well as BOMs and manuals.
  3. Review, approve, and correct system design drawings and schematics.
  4. Utilize SolidWorks to create 2D and 3D designs.
  5. Ensure compliance with US and European standards, defined quality standards, and all related organizational design and safety standards.
  6. Assist with the wiring of custom systems, including electrical panel building, machine wiring, and system startup and testing.
  7. Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and/or test systems (approximately 25%).
  8. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, including clean-up, light maintenance duties, material movement, inventory counts, crate/pallet building, furniture assembly, and forklift operation.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
  2. Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in designing, integration, and fabrication of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  3. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation in AutoCAD.
  4. Highly proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD.
  5. Must be a US citizen or permanent resident legally authorized to work in the US.
  6. Must have a valid and current US Driver's License.
  7. Must be willing and able to successfully pass a complete background check and drug test.
  8. Must be available and willing to work extended hours and weekends.
  9. Prior experience working with BOMs and/or computerized MRP or ERP systems preferably MS Dynamics.
  10. Prior experience and solid understanding of motion control design along with motor/gearbox components and design.
  11. Working knowledge and experience with ISO and/or NQA-1 quality standards and procedures.
