Inventory Accounting Specialist


Sunnova Energy International, Inc. is in search of a skilled accounting professional to oversee various aspects of inventory financial management, operational expenses, and additional responsibilities.

This role, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, encompasses essential accounting duties including monthly closing activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, supporting documentation, and roll forwards.

Furthermore, this position involves preparing and analyzing actual versus budget variances for specific areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all necessary accounting tasks to uphold the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and company policies, focusing on notes receivable, revenue entries, general accounting accruals, and supplementary entries.
  • Facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to guarantee timely financial reporting and assist with quarterly audits.
  • Detect and resolve any financial discrepancies.
  • Conduct monthly performance analysis and variance/aging assessments.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for both public and private financial statements.
  • Compile balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare, review, and effectively communicate various analyses and information to management and external auditors.
  • Develop and implement procedures to enhance workflow efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.
  • A bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting.
Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
Additional Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience managing numerous legal entities and intercompany transactions.

Integrity:
Consistent alignment of words and actions is essential.

  • A collaborative team player with knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles, proven ability to meet deadlines, enhance efficiency, and effectively identify and resolve issues.
Work Environment:

  • Open office setting.
  • Overtime may be required.
