Key Responsibilities:
The MDS Coordinator - RN collaborates closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), Clinical Reimbursement Manager (CRM), and interdisciplinary teams to facilitate the completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), along with all related processes. Under the guidance of the DON or CRM, the Coordinator ensures timely completion of assessments in compliance with federal regulations and company policies. This role oversees the resident assessment process and manages documentation for Medicare, Managed Care, and Medicaid to guarantee optimal reimbursement for services rendered.
Additional responsibilities include assisting in the coordination of resident care planning processes as directed by the DON or CRM. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of one year in an MDS or Clinical Reimbursement Nurse role is preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current State Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required, along with CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications. First Aid certification is also required or must be obtained.
Essential Competencies:

- Employs a resident-centered approach to problem-solving and goal-setting.
- Handles confidential information with discretion, adhering to all privacy regulations.
- Possesses a solid understanding of case-mix and the Federal Medicare PPS process.
- Thorough knowledge of the Quality Indicator Process and OBRA regulations.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and Continuing Care Retirement Community operations.
- Exhibits strong oral and written communication skills, fostering effective relationships across departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Shows sensitivity to the needs of older adults and a passion for working with a senior demographic.
Compensation: The pay range for this position is USD $56.84 per hour.
