As a Urology Physician with Optum, you will have the opportunity to work alongside talented peers and contribute to the development of new practice ideas and initiatives that can improve care for millions of patients across the country.

Position Highlights:

  • Join a team of 5 experienced Urologists and 2 APC Urologists
  • 2 state-of-the-art DaVinci Robots
  • ASC Surgical Centers in Everett and Arlington, with Providence for inpatient care
  • Schedule is negotiable, with options for a 4-day work week
  • Shared community call with Providence, with a 1:6 or 1:8 rotation
  • Average of 20-24 patients per day, with 14 patients per day for procedures
  • 30-minute new visits and 15-minute follow-up templating
  • Epic EMR system
  • DAX available for data analysis
  • 1:1 ratio with Medical Assistants, with RNs floating between providers
  • General Urology practice, with a focus on treating patients of all sexes and ages

Cases Seen:

  • General Urology, with a focus on treating patients of all sexes and ages
  • Types of procedures include nephrectomy, urinary diversions, and endourology
  • No dedicated sub-specialty focus

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Treating and managing patients according to standard, usual, and customary methods and techniques
  • Providing understanding of diagnosis, treatment, therapy, and management of patients according to current standards of care
  • Counsels and educates patients and families
  • Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully with physicians, other health professionals, and staff
  • Coordinates care with multidisciplinary team members
  • Follows ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and unanticipated adverse outcomes
  • Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice
  • Maintains effectiveness throughout changing circumstances
  • Participates in organizational and departmental meetings, educational opportunities, committees, and workgroups as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in medicine from an accredited school
  • Completion of Urology Residency
  • Board Eligible or Certified
  • Unrestricted license to practice in Washington State or ability to obtain before hire
  • Maintain BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an ASC environment

Washington Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Washington residents is $429,056 to $641,310. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
