Paraprofessional Job Description

Catholic Diocese of Lansing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will provide essential support to our teachers and students, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instructional Support: Assist teachers with lesson implementation, classroom preparation, and clerical tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient instructional program.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise students during lunch, playground, and worship activities, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
  • Assist with Classroom Management: Organize instructional and other materials, assist with classroom setup, and provide one-on-one or small group tutoring as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some educational background in child development preferred.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience working with children in a school, pre-school, or daycare setting.
  • Skills: Ability to assist with reading, writing, and mathematics instruction; knowledge of Catholic school philosophy and ability to teach and adhere to Catholic teachings.
Physical Demands:

While performing duties, employee must be able to walk up and down stairs, sit, stoop, squat, stand, reach, talk, hear, read, write, use a computer keyboard, and carry items that weigh up to 40 pounds.
