Work Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Days - Every 4th weekend rotation

Key Responsibilities:

The registered dietitian employs the nutrition care process to:

  • Screen, assess, diagnose, and provide nutrition interventions for patients.
  • Monitor the nutritional status and progress of patients.
  • Utilize the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Standards of Practice in Nutrition Care.
  • Engage in exceptional customer service and maintain respectful relationships.

Value Added to the Team:

  • Assessment: Conduct nutrition-focused physical assessments, gather measurements, review medical records, and collect data through interviews.
  • Diagnosis: Analyze assessment data to identify nutrition risks and problems.
  • Intervention: Provide nutrition recommendations, education, and referrals to other services.
  • Education and Counseling: Deliver culturally sensitive counseling and education tailored to patients' health literacy.
  • Monitoring: Facilitate follow-up to track progress and adjust nutrition care plans as needed.
  • Leadership: Offer supervised practice experiences for dietetic interns and new staff, while staying updated on research and guidelines.
  • Communication: Ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field

Preferred:

  • Graduate degree in nutrition or a related field

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Current active registered dietitian status with the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Current active RD licensed status in the state of practice
