Job Details

Nucor Steel Auburn is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Rotating Summer Internship program. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the scrap metal recycling industry, working alongside experienced operations and sales teammates.

Division: Recycling

Location: Various facilities across the country, including Cincinnati, OH; Louisville, KY; Kansas City, MO; St. Louis, MO; Salt Lake City, UT; Houston, TX; Miami, FL; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL; Gastonia, NC; Monroe, NC

Other Available Locations: Various facilities across the country

Job Functions:

As a Rotating Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:

  • Learn the fundamentals of scrap metal material identification, safety, and daily operations
  • Shadow experienced commercial teammates and learn how they develop, grow, and maintain relationships with customers
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to strategic planning
  • Work on a summer-long project with a final presentation

Requirements:

To be eligible for this internship, you must:

  • Be actively working towards a Bachelor's degree in a Business discipline
  • Have the ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region
  • Be able to work in a hands-on, industrial environment
  • Have a strong safety focus and ability to build relationships with team members
  • Be able to communicate verbally and/or through written communication with team members
  • Have a reliable mode of transportation and be able to book hotel reservations with expenses reimbursed

Preferred Qualifications:

Rising Junior or Senior in Business, Operations, Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Economics, or related field. Previous internship experience, leadership experience, and a strong understanding of Microsoft Applications are also preferred.
