Position Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Principal Technical Artist to contribute to the development of an exciting new project. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about both gaming and technology, possessing a unique blend of artistic and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, define, and enhance artist workflows, tools, and processes to optimize production efficiency.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, facilitating communication and driving joint projects.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, providing innovative solutions and ensuring high-quality implementations.
- Engage in art asset evaluations to pinpoint technical challenges or potential risks.
- Work closely with project leads and directors to uphold visual and technical excellence.
- Mentor and support team members in Art, VFX, and Lighting, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- A minimum of ten years of professional experience in computer-generated art.
- Comprehensive understanding of artist workflows, VFX creation, lighting principles, and real-time rendering optimization.
- Proficient in shader programming languages such as HLSL or GLSL.
- Strong foundation in 3D mathematics.
- Experience in scripting and programming with Python and PyQT/PySide.
- Solid grasp of algorithm design and complexity.
- Ability to produce clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proactive and collaborative mindset, eager to work with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the gaming industry, particularly with AAA titles.
- Programming skills in C++.
- Familiarity with procedural asset creation tools like Houdini and Substance.
- Expertise in 3D modeling software such as Maya or equivalent.
