Division Director of Neurogenetics

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Neurology is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the Division Director of Neurogenetics. This is a unique opportunity to develop a clinical and research infrastructure that fosters integration and collaboration between physicians, genetic counselors, and basic researchers focused on Neurogenetics.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of extramural funding, mentorship, and leadership skills in building innovative programs. They will also have a demonstrated commitment to recruitment, development, and retention of women, underserved minorities, and individuals with disabilities.
The Division Director will be responsible for developing a clinical and research infrastructure that supports the integration of Neurogenetics with other departments and institutes at The Ohio State University. They will also be expected to collaborate with other investigators in the Division of Human Genetics, Neurological Institute, and Neuroscience Research Institute.
The position comes with a start-up package to support the candidate's personal research program and the recruitment of additional bench scientists, physician scientists, genetic counselors, and clinical staff in Neurogenetics.
The successful candidate will be a national leader in the field of neurogenetics and will have a strong reputation for excellence in research, teaching, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a clinical and research infrastructure that supports the integration of Neurogenetics with other departments and institutes
- Collaborate with other investigators in the Division of Human Genetics, Neurological Institute, and Neuroscience Research Institute
- Recruit and retain faculty, staff, and students in Neurogenetics
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Division of Neurogenetics
- Provide leadership and vision for the Division of Neurogenetics
Requirements:
- MD/PhD or equivalent degree
- Strong track record of extramural funding and mentorship
- Leadership skills in building innovative programs
- Demonstrated commitment to recruitment, development, and retention of women, underserved minorities, and individuals with disabilities
- Active, investigator-initiated research program supported by extramural grants
