Job Summary

Vets Hired is seeking a skilled Communications Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling confidential information, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to telephone calls and radio communications, resolving issues and providing information in a timely and professional manner.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Process and disseminate calls for service efficiently to ensure a timely and effective public safety response.
  • Initiate action based on observed situations and utilize sound judgment to make informed decisions.
  • Prepare correspondence and reports, and assist with document processing as required.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Command Staff, employees, other agencies, and the public in a knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Perform other assignments and duties as required and necessary.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent from a U.S. accredited school.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • United States Citizen or Certificate of Naturalization (exceptions apply).
  • Valid driver's license or state-issued ID (must be Texas-issued by hire date).
  • Pass an extensive background investigation, TB skin test, and drug screening.
  • Pass pre-employment testing and demonstrate essential job skills.
  • Willing to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
