LOCATION: Teterboro, NJ

AIRPORT: Teterboro Airport (TEB)

STARTING RATE: $24.04

This role is integral to the airport's maintenance department, focusing on the upkeep of airport facilities at Teterboro Airport. The maintenance team is responsible for ensuring the functionality of airport grounds and buildings, including runways, taxiways, lighting systems, signage, pavement, and landscaped areas. This position is covered by the Transport Workers Union (TWU Airport Mechanic – Mechanical & Electrical).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform maintenance and repairs on all mechanical and electrical systems within the airport's jurisdiction as per the contract with the airport operator.
  2. Conduct general upkeep of airport facilities, which includes servicing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying buildings and grounds. This encompasses tasks such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, landscaping, painting, and snow removal.
  3. Disassemble, clean, repair, or replace defective components and reassemble as necessary. Troubleshoot and rectify issues within all airport electrical systems.
  4. Adhere to quality management system requirements, including documentation and both written and practical assessments.
  5. Maintain effective communication with customers, representing the company positively through regular interactions.
  6. Operate snow removal and landscaping equipment as directed by management.
  7. Utilize assigned equipment, requiring a valid CDL.
  8. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred two years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Capability to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a valid CDL driver's license.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, climb ladders, and effectively communicate in English.
