Job Summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Family Medicine Abbeyville. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Job Description

The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing patients for visits and administering injections as prescribed by providers
  • Preparing and administering medications in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Assisting providers with various procedures and exams
  • Performing point-of-care testing and removing sutures and changing dressings as necessary
  • Providing clinical advice by phone and electronic correspondence, and relaying information to patients
  • Authorizing prescription refills and assisting with test tracking and monitoring overdue results
  • Assisting with proactive outreach for patients requiring preventive and chronic disease services
  • Participating in performance improvement initiatives to improve patient experience and quality of care
Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • A high school diploma or general equivalent (GED)
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR)
  • CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • A valid driver's license (for regional positions only)
Preferred Qualifications

One to two years of Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office is preferred.
