A talent acquisition caregiver will provide more information regarding the sign-on bonus during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates patient assessment in accordance with established protocols and the needs of patients and their families.
- Administers medications, executes treatment therapies, and operates equipment in line with policy and procedure.
- Assists in the development and evaluation of care plans, including both long-term and short-term objectives, nursing actions, and education.
- Documents patient care following standard procedures. Records and communicates observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient condition to the L.I.P. and/or R.N., and aids in analyzing and interpreting patient data.
- Supports physicians with treatments, procedures, and specialized tests as required or directed. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Completes the hospital admission and Emergency Room transfer processes.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients.
- Adheres to UMMHC Infection Control Policies.
Core Competencies:
- Under the supervision of a L.I.P. and/or R.N., performs clinical or telephonic triage, identifies patient needs, implements recommended interventions, and coordinates patient care.
- Provides care for patients with peripheral access devices.
- Completes Basic Life Support (BLS) training every two years.

Mandatory:
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
- Current licensure in Massachusetts is required.
- Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) training every two years.
Experience/Skills:
Mandatory:
- Familiarity with fundamental nursing procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential for gathering information, fostering relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization, and delivering exceptional service to patients.
- Ability to follow directions from patients or providers, adjust equipment, and observe and report patient observations.
Unless certification, licensure, or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides proficiency in the responsibilities outlined in this description may be considered.
