About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic civil engineering team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, working closely with the Civil Engineering Project Lead to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
  • Assist in the design and development of BESS, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate BESS design, including electrical, structural, and environmental engineers.
  • Conduct technical design related to BESS design, including site design, feasibility studies, and performance evaluations.
  • Utilize engineering software (Civil 3D) and tools to design BESS sites.
  • Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure the integrity of BESS designs.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, addressing any technical inquiries or concerns related to BESS projects.
  • Support field activities during the construction and implementation phases of BESS projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and resolve any engineering issues that arise.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects, BESS design, or land development.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and engineering analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to civil engineering and renewable energy projects is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred but not required.
