Fathom, a leading digital manufacturing platform, is seeking a skilled Mold Maker to join our team. As a Mold Maker, you will play a critical role in constructing, repairing, and maintaining plastic injection molds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret prints for tooling modifications, accuracy, and improvements
- Assign work and hold employees accountable for following processes
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Recommend design changes to new and existing tools
- Work with employees to continuously improve quality and production
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts
- Troubleshoot tooling problems at the presses
- Keep accurate records on all applicable documentation
- Maintain tooling inventory
- Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment to increase shop efficiencies
- Assist other tool makers with troubleshooting
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree (A.A.) or certificate in tool & die – preferred
- 5 years of mold making experience
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- AutoCAD experience and/or SolidWorks experience
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, predictive maintenance, 5S, and related manufacturing best practices – preferred
Working Conditions:
Frequently required standing. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
