RN - Operating Room Nurse

eTeam Inc is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as an Operating Room Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth surgical experience.
Responsibilities- Manage patients undergoing moderate sedation, including medication administration, monitoring, and routine and emergency airway management.
- Prepare the Operating Room for surgery, ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are available.
- Review provider's preference card and confirm all necessary items are available.
- Open supplies and instruments using aseptic technique, checking for package integrity, expiration dates, and indicators.
- Perform counts with scrub technician and administer medications aseptically to a sterile field.
- Transport patients to the OR and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to give report and finish documentation as needed.
- Stay with patients to assist with induction anesthesia and see patients in pre-op area for assessment and interview.
- Review chart/consent and check for surgical site markings, position patients, apply warmers, and prep surgical sites while maintaining patient privacy.
- Monitor draping to ensure all areas are covered with sterile drapes, initiate surgical safety checklists, and procedural timeout.
- Connect all equipment and cords and continue to monitor surgical field, anticipating needs of surgical team.
- Confine and contain sponges in sponge counter (as applicable), assess patient for urine output, thermal considerations, etc.
- Assist and facilitate room turnover and assess patients, as appropriate to the scope of care the nurse will provide.
- Establish nursing diagnoses based on results of assessments and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Plan care according to identified diagnoses and needs, updating plan of care as appropriate.
- Implement individualized care, based on nursing care plan and the nurse's role with the patient.
- Recent (within past 5 years) acute care hospital experience - REQUIRED.
- Must have someone with Circulate General, Ortho, Urology, OB/GYN, ENT, and Robotics experience - REQUIRED.
- Strong Ortho experience - REQUIRED.
- Certifications don't need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain.
- OR license don't need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain.
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
