Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate job expectations and responsibilities to drivers.
  • Manage daily scheduling, counseling, and performance evaluations for local management.
  • Conduct on-site accident investigations and assist drivers in completing necessary reports.
  • Design and implement driver training and safety programs; onboard new drivers and provide retraining as needed.
  • Monitor drivers during operations, addressing safety concerns in real-time while documenting any violations.
  • Act as a liaison between drivers and clients, addressing customer service issues effectively.
  • Assess and monitor driver safety and performance, ensuring compliance with legal and labor policies.
  • Support the Safety Manager with compliance related to drug testing and recordkeeping.
  • Assist with dispatching, driving, interviewing, and various clerical tasks as required.
  • Meet all driver qualifications at the location.
  • Maintain a valid CDL to operate vehicles and drive routes as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience supervising hourly employees, with a preference for 2-3 years in transit supervision
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of vehicle mechanical processes and maintenance
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders
  • Experience in human resources and training
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Possess a reliable vehicle for travel within the service area

Essential Job Functions:

  • Physical capability to perform inspections, including bending, stooping, and standing
  • Adaptability to various environmental conditions
  • Ability to write clear and coherent reports
