Railway Maintenance Technician

Drummac, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Apprentice to join our team. As a Qualified Person (QP), you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing passenger rail cars and locomotives while working under the supervision of our Passenger Rail Mechanic.
Key Responsibilities- Perform air brake inspections of passenger cars and locomotives, including troubleshooting and repair of air brake systems.
- Conduct daily inspections of locomotives, identify issues, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Troubleshoot and repair passenger car systems, including toilet systems, air conditioning systems, doors, panels, lights, electrical systems, and brake systems.
- Fill out regulatory, client, and company-required paperwork.
- Perform electrical tests, remove, disassemble, replace, repair, modify, rebuild, assemble, adjust, and maintain batteries and electrical equipment on locomotives.
- Communicate written and verbal findings of inspections to Supervisor.
- Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call as required.
- Adhere to a flexible schedule to accommodate dynamic train schedules.
- Work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
- Wear and use required protective equipment while working.
- Take responsibility for own safety while on the job.
- Valid driver's license required.
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent reading, writing, and reasoning skills).
- Trade school or formal railroad locomotive or diesel mechanical maintenance training required.
- Knowledge of locomotive mechanical or locomotive electrical or industrial heavy equipment mechanical experience required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process.
