About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Creative Event Coordinator and Customer Service Specialist to join our team at Michaels, Inc. in Quad-Davenport, IA.

Job Summary

This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating events within our store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. You will deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they're looking for, ensuring all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Additionally, you will complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  • Engage with clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting, and other activities.
  • Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc., to company standards.
  • Communicate events with clients and store team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
  • Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs.
  • Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
Customer Experience
  • Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
  • Provide fast and friendly check out experience.
  • Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
  • Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
  • Participate in the truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
  • Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; execute Company policies and standards.
  • Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations; promote commitment to the organization's vision and values; project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
  • Cross-trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
  • Participate in daily store cleanliness activities, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience, plus generous benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, tuition assistance, and employee discounts.
