Blueprint Staffing is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to support our client's operations in the heavy industrial mechanical contracting sector. This role focuses on the installation, servicing, and maintenance of power and process systems within the manufacturing, industrial, and power generation industries.


Position Overview:

The Project Engineer will be based out of the Hagerstown area office and will play a crucial role in managing multiple projects across various locations. Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, the Project Engineer will ensure that all projects are executed safely, within budget, on schedule, and meet both company standards and client expectations. Projects will vary in size, scope, and complexity, with long-term assignments typically lasting between 3 to 6 months.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily with the Operations Manager to facilitate ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Assist in procurement processes for materials, ensuring adherence to client specifications and industry standards.
  • Oversee timely delivery of materials from subcontractors and suppliers in alignment with project timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals as required.
  • Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process and ensure that project drawings are current.
  • Oversee specific project budgets within the company's cost control framework.
  • Compile necessary data for monthly payment applications for owners and subcontractors.
  • Support pre-construction and progress meetings with clients and subcontractors as needed.
  • Assist in estimating new project opportunities, including labor production, material take-offs, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Engage in weekly coordination with the Operations Manager regarding project status.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 2 to 10 years of experience in construction, preferably in mechanical contracting or as a prime contractor.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans and specifications.
  • Experience in scheduling and estimating is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
