Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using various analyzers and/or manual methods.
  • Organize workload and set priorities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Utilize computer systems to maintain patient and testing records, and other related documents.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory.
  • Participate in quality control testing, maintenance, and function checks of laboratory equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • One year of work or training experience in a hospital laboratory preferred.
  • Must meet certification eligibility upon entry into this role and have one of the following required certifications within 18 months: Certified as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or categorical certification by Board of Certification (ASCP).
