Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated research associate at the Life Science Research Professional I level, with a keen interest in genomics, evolutionary biology, and community engagement. The position is based at a renowned marine research facility, focusing on the molecular mechanisms that drive developmental and evolutionary processes. The role combines experimental, genomic, and computational methodologies, particularly emphasizing the genetics and embryology of natural populations.
This position also involves engaging with the local community, sharing insights about marine life and research findings. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in various molecular biology techniques and develop skills in public outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-throughput DNA and RNA extractions, prepare libraries for next-generation sequencing, and perform single-cell RNA analysis.
- Engage with community members to present and interpret research findings, fostering understanding of local environmental issues.
- Perform routine laboratory techniques, including PCR and cloning, while maintaining accurate records of all experiments.
