Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accounting professional to oversee and manage our general ledger, conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, and analyze financial statements and reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process, as well as hands-on experience with accounting software packages.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the general ledger to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Analyze financial statements and reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with auditors during financial and operational audits.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
  • Assist in tax preparation and filing activities.
  • Provide guidance to other accountants when needed.
  • Utilize Abila MIP for various accounting functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Abila MIP is a must.
  • Prior experience in the nonprofit industry is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent numerical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
